人MXA蛋白（粘液virus抗性蛋白1）是MX1基因的產(chǎn)物，是由662個(gè)氨基酸殘基組成的76kDa蛋白，屬于大GTPase的動(dòng)態(tài)超家族。MXA蛋白在細(xì)胞對(duì)抗各種virus（包括流感、副流感、麻疹、柯薩奇、乙型肝炎virus和thogotovirus）的抗virus活性中起著重要作用。virus在其生命周期的早期、宿主細(xì)胞進(jìn)入后不久和基因組擴(kuò)增前被MXA蛋白抑制。小鼠mxa（mx1-gtpase）聚集在細(xì)胞核內(nèi)，與核體結(jié)合，抑制已知在細(xì)胞核內(nèi)復(fù)制的流感virus和thogotovirus。人MXA蛋白也聚集在細(xì)胞質(zhì)和內(nèi)質(zhì)網(wǎng)中。內(nèi)質(zhì)網(wǎng)的膜室似乎提供了一個(gè)促進(jìn)virus目標(biāo)識(shí)別的相互作用平臺(tái)。MXA似乎通過感知和捕獲核衣殼樣結(jié)構(gòu)來檢測(cè)virusinfect。因此，virus成分無法用于產(chǎn)生新的virus顆粒。virusMXA蛋白的表達(dá)僅由干擾素α和干擾素β以劑量依賴性方式誘導(dǎo)，而不是由干擾素γ、IL-1、TNFα或其他細(xì)胞因子誘導(dǎo)。在臨床診斷中，MXA蛋白作為virusinfect的標(biāo)志物可能比其他誘導(dǎo)蛋白（如2'，5’-寡腺苷酸合成酶）更具優(yōu)勢(shì)，因?yàn)槠浠A(chǔ)濃度非常低，半衰期較長。一些臨床研究報(bào)告了MXA蛋白在外周血單個(gè)核細(xì)胞中的表達(dá)可能作為區(qū)分virus性和細(xì)菌性疾病的標(biāo)志物，以及在慢性virus性肝炎和多發(fā)性硬化的干擾素treatment過程中I型干擾素生物可利用性的可靠標(biāo)志物。
